My first blog post: Motivation and Other Pitfalls

Starting a blog

So… this is it, huh? The glamorous world of online blogging, right at my fingertips. Who would’ve thought that I could really do it?

Alright, I haven’t really started, let alone made it yet. But you gotta just jump right in there and start at some point. It may not be perfect timing. This blog might not skyrocket to be the most popular website on the internet within the next week. But if you never try, you never know. Reach for the stars so if you fall you land on a cloud. How cheesy.

Let’s not get caught up in corny clichés and careless kitsch. Realistic is the new black. This will be hard work. Long hours. Tedious tasks. A merciless boss. No fun whatsoever. And there’s no guarantee I’ll ever be rewarded for any of this. How depressing.

Maybe the internet can help me find a middle ground. (Because the internet is just the right place to reach balance. /s)

Every accomplishment starts with the decision to try

Very motivational. For every “EPIC FAIL” on YouTube, there’s a “WIN” on another site and two motivational posters on Google Images. Let’s dig further.

You're off to great places! Today is your day!

Who knew the internet was so supportive?

Don't be the same. Be better!

This one could be seen as an insult if you’re arrogant enough.

Alright, what did we learn? I don’t know about you but I know now that you can put anything over an artistic-looking backdrop and the result will look pretty awesome.

I really like French fries, you know?

It could even be something horrific. If the background’s pretty no one will notice!

Human flesh is best served with a side of horse testicles

Alright, we should end this right here. Please don’t credit me when you use that last one.

I guess I didn’t learn anything. But that’s okay. Blogging is about exploring your interests, writing out your thoughts, and finding people that are like-minded – or at least like to argue. One single post doesn’t say a lot about me. And it doesn’t say a lot about blogging either. I’ll just have to wait and see. And you’ll have to come back and read. I can sense that this is going to be a lot of fun. And I can proudly say that I’m a blogger now. That’s a win in my book.
